Covid-19 in Thailand is still the JN.1 strain, while in 5 days, the number of patients has increased to 30,000, with 3 deaths.

Today (23 May 2025), Dr. Yongyos Thamvuthi, Director-General of the Department of Medical Sciences, revealed about the surveillance of COVID-19 strains that the Omicron strain situation in Thailand from January 2024 - 6 May 2025 found that JN.1* was still the main strain, accounting for a cumulative proportion of 63.92 percent of all strains found in Thailand, which is consistent with the overall situation worldwide where JN.1* is still the main strain.
